Australia Institute of Company Directors (AICD) offers an International Company Directors Course that can help clarify the issues and assist directors and executives come to grips with the governance issues that affect them in a global environment.  The courses are held in different countries annually. Its next run in Singapore will be from 19 to 23 November 2018. Find out more here.

The INSEAD International Directors Programme is INSEAD’s flagship course in corporate governance and is a unique educational experience that aims to develop more effective directors for the global business scene. In three focused modules, participants will master strategies for the following fundamental areas: board effectiveness and dynamics; board decision-making and oversight; and director effectiveness and development. The next available run with all modules held in Fontainebleau will commence on 8 Apr 2019. The next run with 2 modules held in Singapore and 1 in Fontainebleau will commence on 16 Jun 2019. The Fellows Program, produced by the IWF Leadership Foundation, spreads across a year and convenes fellows from around the world for a total of 20 days. In partnership with the Harvard Business School and INSEAD, the program offers creative, multi-disciplinary training aimed at developing leadership and strategic management capabilities. Singapore Management University (SMU) offers, in partnership with Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) a unique six-module programme which provides a 360-degree board-level view of the key strategic areas and issues faced by company directors. Taught by expert faculty and industry professionals, the programme is designed to help participants enhance their board level skills and update their knowledge and ability to lead in challenging times. The SBF-Nanyang Competencies for Future and Current Directors is a joint programme by Singapore Business Federation (SBF) and Nanyang Business School. The programme will introduce the fundamental concepts of board directorship to aspiring as well as newly-appointed board members in a two day intensive and interactive course.  Through the use of case studies, open discussion, experience-sharing, and interaction with faculty and a panel of experienced directors, participants will develop and appreciate the range and complexity of the decisions and issues that board members need to confront and handle.  Find out more here.

The acceleration of globalization means that Asian business leaders are pressed to keep up with the corporate governance reforms spanning the US, Europe and Asia. The Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma is a 6-month course that provides independent directors with the tools they need to maximize company value and ensure long-term sustainability within an Asian context. This post-graduate level qualification covers the whole range of skills needed for any non-executive role, fulfilling new executive education requirements for board members and enabling them to confidently bring competence and credibility to the board. The Harvard Business School’s Women on Boards: Succeeding as a Corporate Director is designed to help senior executive women raise their profile and prepare for the director role.
